Bloomberg seeks a Senior Data Management Professional – Economics News Automation in New York to lead automation-first data workflows across acquisition, extraction, validation, publishing, and monitoring. You will coordinate with News, Engineering, and Product to ensure accurate, timely, and observable data outputs while improving data quality and end-to-end visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Data Management, Editorial, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in data management, data operations, data engineering, hands-on automation, workflow management, or data quality.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end data lifecycle: acquisition, ingestion, transformation, validation, publishing, monitoring, and controls.
• Experience designing and improving automated data workflows, ETL pipelines, monitoring frameworks, and operational processes.
• Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, scripting, data analysis, visualization, or similar tools used to automate, monitor, and optimize data workflows.
• Ability to translate business, editorial, product, and client requirements into technical solutions across multiple teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including root-cause analysis and KPI/SLA definition.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with the ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize automation-first solutions.

Responsabilités

• Manage end-to-end automated news and economic data workflows across acquisition, extraction, validation, publishing, monitoring, remediation, and delivery.
• Prioritize incidents, enhancements, and remediation based on market impact, client value, and risk; lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, and News teams to define automation-first workflows and technical specifications for tool modernization and production readiness.
• Define and maintain standards for automation quality, source reliability, extraction accuracy, timeliness, and governance.
• Design monitoring, alerting, validation frameworks providing end-to-end visibility and anomaly detection.
• Research and onboard new data sources, define source logic, extraction requirements, publishing rules, and lifecycle management.
• Apply AI/ML, statistics, and human-in-the-loop approaches to improve ingestion, validation, resilience, and scalable publishing.
• Influence data modeling, metadata, taxonomy, lineage, governance, and release readiness for automated data products.
• Mentor colleagues on automation-first product management and scalable automation practices.
