Job summary

Tufts University is seeking a Senior Academic Advisor in the Department of Economics. You will provide full-time advising to declared undergraduate majors and support faculty advisors as part of the AAUS team, guiding students through major requirements and university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or related field required.
• Two+ years of related experience as an instructor, advisor, tutor, mentor, or administrator in a college or university setting.
• Superior interpersonal skills, flexibility and approachability.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to write, edit, and proofread educational documents.
• Proficient with technology for writing documents, spreadsheets, databases, brochures/slides, and web-based communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as front-line academic advisor for declared Economics majors, guiding course selection and major requirements.
• Act as liaison between department and programs to advance student success and collaborate with AAUS team.
• Provide programming support, create/edit advising materials, plan on-campus events and deliver presentations.
• Conduct research and analyze data to track retention and on-time graduation trends.
• Assist Associate Deans and faculty advisors in supporting students needing extra help while maintaining confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned to support department majors.
