Job summary

Tufts University is seeking a Senior Academic Advisor for undeclared undergraduates to guide curriculum choices, major selection, and campus resources while supporting advising teams and timely degree progress.

This hybrid role requires in-person work at least half the work week during the fall and spring terms with flexibility for remote work in summer and breaks; occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 2+ years' experience in college/university setting as instructor, advisor, tutor, mentor or administrator.
• Commitment to advising, mentoring, and guiding college students.
• Superior interpersonal skills, including flexibility and approachability.
• Excellent written and oral communication; able to write, edit, and proofread educational documents and other publications.
• Proficient with technology, including software for writing documents, spreadsheets, databases, brochures and slideshows, and web-based audio-video services.
• Ability to work independently, think on one's feet, set priorities, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Counsels and advises undeclared undergraduates on curriculum and major options; assists with degree planning.
• Supports New Student Orientation, First Year Experience, and undergraduate retention efforts.
• Provides logistics support, programming, and data analysis for team-based advising.
• Collaborates with Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Deans to improve advising resources and policies.
• Coordinates with Career Services for research, internships, and employment opportunities.
• Manages communications and materials related to academic policies and degree certification.
