Rockville is seeking a Senior Ecommerce Systems Engineer to optimize, integrate, and automate the technology powering our growing multichannel ecommerce business.
This is a senior, hands‑on engineering role for someone with deep Descartes Sellercloud expertise , strong software development and API integration capabilities, and demonstrated success implementing AI‑powered solutions in real business environments.
The right person understands both the technology and the business processes behind ecommerce operations. We need someone who can investigate complex system issues, write and debug code, build integrations, automate workflows, and independently deliver solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
Rockville is a growing consumer electronics and audio equipment brand specializing in pro audio, car audio, marine audio, DJ equipment, lighting, recording equipment, speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, studio monitors, accessories, and related products. Our business manages thousands of SKUs across our ecommerce websites and major online marketplaces.
Our technology ecosystem includes Sellercloud, Skustack, Shipbridge, Shopify, Salsify, Zendesk, Klaviyo, and other integrated business applications. We are looking for someone who can help us maximize the value of these systems while introducing new capabilities through engineering, automation, and AI.
Sellercloud expertise: Become a key technical authority for Descartes Sellercloud, Skustack, Shipbridge, and the integrations supporting our multichannel ecommerce operations.
Hands‑on systems engineering: Personally develop, troubleshoot, deploy, and maintain APIs, integrations, scripts, automations, and internal technical solutions.
AI‑forward engineering: Identify and implement practical uses of AI, AI agents, and intelligent automation to improve business processes, eliminate repetitive work, and increase productivity.
Cross‑functional impact: Work directly with Ecommerce, Warehouse Operations, Marketing, Customer Experience, Finance, Purchasing, and leadership to solve meaningful business problems.
Measurable ROI: Deliver improvements that reduce operational costs, eliminate errors, improve throughput, strengthen system reliability, and maximize existing technology investments.
Technical ownership and autonomy: Take projects from problem identification through solution design, implementation, testing, and ongoing support without relying on outside developers for routine engineering work.
Serve as an internal technical expert for Sellercloud and its connected applications, including Skustack and Shipbridge, supporting system configurations, business rules, integrations, reporting, and operational workflows.
Design, build, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between ecommerce platforms, order management systems (OMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), product information systems (PIM), shipping platforms, and customer‑facing applications.
Develop and maintain custom solutions using REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks, SQL, scripts, middleware, and backend programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/Node.js, C#, or similar technologies.
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues involving inventory synchronization, order processing, marketplace connections, product data, shipping workflows, and intersystem data exchange.
Build and implement AI‑powered workflows and agents that improve reporting, data processing, customer support, exception management, and administrative efficiency.
Evaluate opportunities to use platform‑native automation, AI tools, third‑party integrations, or custom development, selecting the most effective and maintainable solution.
Partner with Warehouse Operations to improve technical workflows involving Skustack, Shipbridge, inventory movements, picking, packing, shipping, and related warehouse systems.
Support integrations and automation across Shopify, Salsify, Zendesk, Klaviyo, and other business applications, working alongside the internal teams responsible for those platforms.
Develop monitoring, alerts, error handling, and exception reporting to proactively identify integration failures, data discrepancies, and operational issues.
Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies, unnecessary manual processes, duplicated functionality, and opportunities for consolidation or automation.
Build technical tools, reports, and dashboards that provide visibility into system performance, operational exceptions, workflow efficiency, and measurable business outcomes.
Maintain documentation of system architecture, APIs, data mappings, integrations, configurations, technical procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
Apply sound engineering practices for testing, deployment, version control, access management, security, and reliability.
Collaborate with internal technical resources, software vendors, and external development partners when necessary while maintaining strong internal ownership of delivered solutions.
Work with leadership to prioritize technical improvements based on business impact, implementation effort, operating costs, and expected return on investment.
In the first 90 days, this person will be expected to develop a strong understanding of Rockville’s ecommerce technology ecosystem, establish working relationships across departments, and assess the current configuration, utilization, and integration of our core business systems.
Initial priorities will include understanding the Sellercloud environment, mapping critical integrations and data flows, identifying technical risks and recurring inefficiencies, and developing a prioritized improvement roadmap.
We expect this person to identify and begin delivering practical improvements early, while establishing a longer‑term strategy for systems optimization, AI enablement, operational automation, and measurable cost savings.
The right person should bring enough technical expertise and initiative to discover opportunities we may not yet recognize, while remaining hands‑on enough to personally implement solutions.
We are looking for a senior ecommerce systems engineer who has:
Deep, hands‑on expertise with Descartes Sellercloud , including its operational capabilities, configurations, automation, reporting, and integrations, with strong familiarity with Skustack and Shipbridge.
5+ years of relevant professional experience in ecommerce systems engineering, software development, application integrations, business systems engineering, or related technical roles.

Experience improving operational processes through technology, including measurable improvements in productivity, accuracy, cost, speed, or system reliability.
Strong technical judgment, analytical problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently from problem identification through implementation.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions for nontechnical stakeholders.
Comfort operating in a fast‑moving, founder‑led ecommerce environment where priorities evolve and technical initiatives have direct business impact.
Ability to work full‑time onsite in Inwood, NY.
Extensive experience with Skustack, Shipbridge, Sellercloud APIs, plugins, customizations, and multichannel marketplace integrations.
Experience integrating Shopify, Salsify, Zendesk, Klaviyo, or comparable ecommerce, PIM, CRM, and customer service platforms.
Experience building AI agents, LLM‑powered applications, or AI‑enabled workflows using APIs, orchestration tools, or automation platforms.
Experience with integration and automation tools such as Celigo, Boomi, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar platforms.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, cloud services, serverless applications, logging, monitoring, and production deployment practices.
