Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Sr. System Development Engineer for AWS EC2 Manufacturing Infrastructure Services to design, build, and operate scalable platform software that keeps hardware healthy across manufacturing sites.

You will own critical infrastructure, develop automation and monitoring, and work with ODM/CM IT teams. Strong Linux, networking, and SRE experience are required to drive reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Deep expertise in Linux OS and network troubleshooting across distributed multi-site environments.
• Experience leading enterprise scale infrastructure or cloud programs/projects.
• Experience designing automation frameworks at scale using Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell.
• 5+ years of systems engineering, network engineering, or SRE experience with reliability ownership.
• Advanced networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls.
• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions across team boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability of manufacturing networking, systems, and platform infrastructure across AWS manufacturing partner sites globally.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code to stand up and manage distributed manufacturing services at new and existing sites.
• Build monitoring, alerting, and anomaly detection systems to identify infrastructure issues before impact.
• Develop troubleshooting tools and runbooks for rapid diagnosis and resolution.
• Consult with ODM/CM IT teams on network design and infrastructure standards across partners.
• Drive site expansion readiness with timely onboarding of new sites.
• Implement security and operational best practices for manufacturing environments.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for manufacturing platform evolution.
• Develop and build systems enabling scalable operation of manufacturing infrastructure.
