Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking an Existing Building Commissioning Project Manager II to lead medium-to-high scope projects, verify systems, troubleshoot HVAC controls, and manage client relations. The role combines planning, QA/QC execution, and on-site coordination across multiple teams.

You will ensure project plans are followed, deliver quality results, and manage financials while communicating with clients and SSR staff. Hybrid work in Dallas region is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years related project experience in HVAC troubleshooting, commissioning, and/or retro commissioning.
• Technical report writing experience with Office, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Energy audit experience of 1–3 years.
• Time-management skills, presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Engineer licensure preferred; building automation and HVAC design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes and maintains project schedule and supports the Service Line Manager and Sr. Project Managers.
• Completes definition of project scope requirements and schedule with the client and communicates to the project team.
• Monitors manpower requirements and analyzes information from plans, specs, and docs.
• Facilitates client-team communication and documents important issues.
• Attends project update meetings with clients and team members.
• Works to address client needs while managing expectations and budgets.
• Coordinates with subcontractors on project needs, schedules, and deadlines.
• Monitors scope creep and participates in BD activities like proposals and fee creation.
