Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Senior Construction Estimator to develop accurate proposals and timely estimates for private and public sector projects in Utah. The role supports bidding and competitiveness, requiring strong take-off and analysis skills.

The candidate will review drawings, assess risks, and collaborate with field operations and senior management to win bids while ensuring quality and compliance with DBE requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in civil engineering, construction management, business or related field.
• 7+ years in construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AGTEK Take-off and Primavera Scheduling software.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating software and civil/ construction principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and DBE compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate proposals and timely estimates for private and public sector works.
• Analyze bid risks and strategies and participate in bid reviews with senior management.
• Review drawings and site conditions; record findings for final estimate.
• Perform take-offs, analyze cost data and competitive bidding options.
• Communicate estimate details to field operations at pre-construction meetings.
• Develop and maintain relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market.
