Job summary

Pathpoint is seeking an Underwriter for our DC-area team, focused on commercial E&S property and casualty. You will own a defined region, underwriting new business and maintaining profitable growth while engaging with agents and internal teams.

You will evaluate risk, prepare competitive quotes, and coordinate placement with carrier partners. A remote-friendly, fast-paced environment supports ongoing professional growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years E&S underwriting in commercial property & casualty.
• Experience with small to mid-sized commercial accounts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Comfort with remote work and high digital literacy.
• Results-oriented with production goals and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own the territory: Manage a defined region, underwriting new business across commercial E&S P&C accounts with monthly premium targets.
• Review & assess risks: Evaluate submissions for completeness, risk appetite fit, pricing and coverage needs.
• Prepare & deliver quotes: Develop accurate quotes and clearly communicate options, pricing, and recommendations to agents.
• Secure binds & complete placement: Manage opportunities, obtain binds, coordinate docs, ensure compliant placements.
• Work accounts: Prioritize submissions, maintain pipeline visibility, meet service levels while engaging carriers and clients.
• Partner with carriers: Collaborate with underwriters to shape strategy, forms, and pricing.
• Improve portfolio & platform: Review performance with Analytics and feed insights to Product/Engineering.
