Job summary

Hamilton is seeking an Executive Underwriter for the US Property portfolio, offering a hybrid or remote work arrangement. The role focuses on developing and expanding the U.S.

E&S Property platform, including excess and surplus lines, with emphasis on catastrophe exposures and middle market clients. You will manage relationships with wholesale brokers and clients in the U.S., travel as needed, and contribute to building a modern, scalable underwriting process on Hamilton Select.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an experienced underwriter with E&S Property focus.
• Established relationships within wholesale broker networks.
• Strong technical knowledge of E&S Property risk drivers (cat exposure, construction, regional dynamics).
• Ability to balance analytics with broker relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Drive high-volume production by sourcing, triaging, and underwriting E&S Property submissions across risk sizes and complexities.
• Execute full underwriting workflow with broker engagement, triage, risk evaluation, pricing, and binding within authority.
• Attend broker meetings and travel to maintain market presence and build partnerships.
• Maintain underwriting discipline while driving production goals and refining processes and tools.
• Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members as the portfolio grows.
