Job summary

King's Insurance Staffing is seeking a Sr. Commercial Lines Field Production Underwriter for their Pennsylvania team. In this fully remote role, you’ll be responsible for underwriting and pricing new Commercial Casualty business, focusing on managing renewals and ensuring profitability across the Western Pennsylvania/Pittsburgh territories.

Qualifications include 5+ years of experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities. Offering a competitive salary of $130,000 - $160,000 with additional benefits.

Job description

Our client, an A+ rated insurance carrier, is continuing to expand their E&S footprint and seeking to add a Sr. Commercial Lines Field Production Underwriter to their Pennsylvania team. This person will be responsible for underwriting and pricing new Commercial Casualty business within the Excess & Surplus (E&S) market. Working closely with producers, this role focuses on soliciting new business, managing renewals, and ensuring underwriting profitability across the Western Pennsylvania / Pittsburgh territories. This is a fully remote position!

• Assess individual risk acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions for complex surplus lines commercial property and casualty policies.
• Develop, analyze, and evaluate information to identify exposures and make well-informed underwriting decisions.
• Visit producers / wholesale brokers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, assisting in client retention and achieving mutual business growth.
• Achieve established production and loss ratio targets for the assigned regional territory.
• Maintain awareness of market trends and competitive landscape to drive new business opportunities.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in Commercial Casualty underwriting, preferably in the surplus lines/E&S market.
• Must have Production Underwriting and/or Territory Marketing experience.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building producer relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
