Job description

Catbird, an iconic fine jewelry DTC brand, is seeking an experienced Senior E-Commerce Manager to own the strategy, performance, and evolution of Catbird's online business. This role leads site operations end to end, sets the digital roadmap in partnership with the SVP of Digital, and drives cross‑functional initiatives that elevate the digital customer experience. The Senior E-Commerce Manager will be the primary point of ownership for e‑commerce KPIs, will manage key agency and platform partners, and will help mentor and develop junior members of the e‑commerce team as Catbird continues to scale.

This role is hybrid, with three days per week in office at our Brooklyn Navy Yard HQ.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own day‑to‑day management and long‑term strategy of the e‑commerce platform, ensuring optimal performance, user experience, and functionality to deliver a frictionless, best‑in‑class consumer experience; migrating the platform from Magento to Shopify.
  • Lead end‑to‑end digital roadmap planning, including strategy development, budget management, prioritization, execution, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Help execute site marketing planning from content to new launches in partnership with cross‑functional teams for a cohesive, 360‑degree consumer experience across digital channels and platforms.
  • Set the e‑commerce measurement framework, working closely with key stakeholders to identify site opportunities and experiences that enhance the consumer shopping experience, and deliver KPIs and actionable insights that ladder up to business objectives.
  • Partner with analytics and marketing teams to analyze conversion funnels, diagnose customer friction points, and lead initiatives that increase conversion, AOV, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for external technical and agency partners, leading project prioritization, sprint planning, UAT, and production releases.
  • Manage and maintain third‑party vendor relationships, acting as the face of Catbird and ensuring these partnerships remain productive and positive.
  • Partner with the SVP Digital and senior leadership to develop and present e‑commerce strategy, KPIs, and business results, including contributing to leadership and board‑level reporting.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and day‑to‑day support to junior e‑commerce team members, helping build team capability and capacity.
  • Stay ahead of evolving e‑commerce, digital, and retail trends, proactively bringing forward new tactics and technologies to enhance site experience.
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships across the e‑commerce team and cross‑functional teams company‑wide.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 6+ years of experience in e‑commerce, with a track record of owning site strategy, content, and operations and delivering measurable results in a multi‑channel environment.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members, with the maturity to lead cross‑functional initiatives independently.
  • A hands‑on leader with the ability to seamlessly pivot between individual contributor and strategic manager.
  • Deep experience with e‑commerce platforms, CMS, merchandising tools, and project management systems; familiarity with OMS a plus.
  • Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives and translate data and insights into actionable, strategic plans.
  • Highly analytical and solutions‑oriented, with experience identifying business challenges and driving initiatives from concept through implementation and measurement.
  • Deep attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and precision.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity in an entrepreneurial environment, with strong ownership instincts and a bias for action.
  • Customer‑centric mindset, with a sharp understanding of how digital experiences drive engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Proven ability to influence senior cross‑functional partners and drive alignment to execute solutions and achieve business goals.
  • Strong sense of ownership, with a genuine desire to drive change, improve processes, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with Shopify, A/B testing tools, analytics tools such as GA4, Looker, BI tools, Fullstory, or Amplitude.
  • Strategic, creative, and highly detail‑oriented, with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast‑moving environment.
