Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Microsoft Dynamics Finance Consultant to join our team in delivering transformative ERP solutions, with a primary focus on Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial modules and processes, coupled with a strong understanding of the unique operational and regulatory needs of the Higher Education sector.

This role will work closely with finance stakeholders, technical teams, and institutional leadership to design, implement, and support finance solutions that streamline operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, and Project Accounting.
• Analyze and map Higher Education financial processes to D365 capabilities; propose optimizations and best practices.
• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with finance and administration stakeholders within the institution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate D365 Finance with other systems such as student information systems (SIS), procurement platforms, and HR/payroll systems.
• Develop functional specifications and work with developers to customize solutions as necessary.
• Deliver training and create user documentation tailored for non-technical users in the education sector.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancements post-implementation.
• Ensure solutions comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies (e.g., GASB, NACUBO guidelines).
  
  

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience implementing or supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
• Strong knowledge of core financial operations and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle ERP implementations, including planning, design, testing, deployment, and support.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  
  

Preferred

• Experience working with or implementing ERP solutions in a Higher Education environment.
• Familiarity with education-specific challenges such as fund accounting, grants management, tuition and fees processing, or auxiliary services.
• Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Finance or related modules.
• Experience with Anthology ERP is a big plus.
• Experience integrating Dynamics 365 with SIS systems like Anthology, Banner, or Workday Student.
