Job summary

SpaceX in Irvine, CA, seeks a Sr. DSP Systems Engineer (Silicon Engineering) to advance next-generation ASICs for Starlink satellites and ground infrastructure.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, model, test, and bring up silicon-based RF sensing and communication systems, emphasizing DSP, RF, and system-level analysis. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required.
• 5+ years in system-level modeling, DSP, or RF/wireless design.
• Master’s degree preferred with emphasis in comms/DSP or related.
• Experience with RF sensors or wireless modems is a plus.
• Proficient in MATLAB, C/C++, Python; GNU Radio experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive program-level decisions on sensor firmware, software, and AI-driven architecture.
• Research novel solutions with digital beamforming, massive MIMO, and direct-to-device tech.
• Design, model, and test system- and link-level algorithms.
• Collaborate with ASIC/FPGA, RF/antenna, and software engineers to bring up RF systems.
• Generate specifications, test procedures, and bit-/cycle-accurate vectors; support silicon bring-up and demonstrations.
• Analyze system performance and implement test plans under dynamic program needs.
