Job summary

SpaceX in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior DSP Systems Engineer (Silicon Engineering) to help design, model, and validate next‑gen ASICs for Starlink. You’ll work with cross‑disciplinary teams to push RF sensing and satellite broadband capabilities across the globe.

You will drive firmware/software architecture decisions, develop algorithms, and bring up silicon in collaboration with ASIC/FPGA, RF/antenna, and software teams. A strong background in DSP, MIMO, and AI-driven approaches is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM fields required.
• 5+ years in system-level modeling, DSP, or RF/wireless design.
• Experience with AI-driven architectures and MIMO is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive program-level decisions on sensor firmware, software, and AI-driven architecture for RF sensing and satellite broadband systems.
• Research and develop solutions with digital beamforming, massive MIMO, and direct-to-device tech for on-orbit and ground applications.
• Design, model, and test algorithms for system- and link-level performance, including modem and beamforming simulations.
• Collaborate with ASIC/FPGA, RF/antenna, and software engineers to validate silicon-based RF sensing and comms systems.
• Generate spacecraft/consumer equipment specs, requirements, procedures, and vectors; support silicon bring-up and demonstrations.
• Analyze overall system performance and implement test plans under dynamic program needs.
