Job summary

Upstate Caring Partners, Inc. is seeking a Senior Direct Support Professional to provide oversight of staff and ensure a safe, healthy living environment for residents. The role includes mentoring new employees, on-site orientation, and coordinating shift operations under the Program Manager's supervision.

The Senior DSP will also handle required documentation and participate in agency activities. Travel is required; NYS driver’s license and AMAP certification are mandatory.

• Associates in Human Services preferred, providing foundation for direct-support work.
• This position requires responsible and reliable individuals with good judgement.

• In absence of Residence Manager, oversee daily shift operations, coordinate staff scheduling, and complete shift records and reports.

Job description

The Senior DSP will provide oversight to staff working within a 12 person or less ICF or IRA and is responsible for:

• Serve as a mentor for new employees and assist in on-site orientation and training.
• Participate in agency activities under the supervision of the Program Manager.
• Provides high quality supportive services to ensure that a safe, healthy and welcoming living environment is provided for residents.
• In the absence of the Residence Manager, is responsible for oversight of daily shift operations, coordination of the scheduling of staff, completion of all records and reports pertaining to the shift they are leading.

Qualifications

• Associates in Human Services preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a direct-support role.
• Must have and maintain AMAP certification.
• This position requires responsible and reliable individuals with good judgement.
• This position is responsible for a significant amount of documentation related to the people we support and program operations.
• Travel and transport is required. Must have and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record obtained through LENS.
