Starkey Laboratories in Eden Prairie, MN, is seeking a Sr Signal Processing Research Engineer II to lead advanced DSP research for AI-enabled hearing technology. You will drive development of low-latency audio algorithms, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and translate breakthroughs into products and patents.

The role emphasizes leadership in signal processing, machine learning integration, and collaboration with product teams to bring research into commercial hearing solutions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Senior Engineer II: minimum 3 years of applicable experience (PhD candidates may be exempted)
• Strong knowledge of DSP and acoustics and audio signal processing required.
• Experience with real-time signal processing or fixed-point algorithms desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research DSP algorithms for hearing aids and related devices.
• Propose project plan and review literature, competitors, and patents.
• Prototype algorithms using simulations and lab platforms.
• Evaluate algorithms via lab and field testing and benchmarking.
• Collaborate with product development to transfer research results to products.
• Provide input to firmware requirements and contribute to IP activities.
