Job summary

Collins Aerospace, RTX company, is seeking a Senior DSP FPGA/ASIC Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will design and implement signal processing algorithms on FPGA/ASIC platforms, using Simulink for modeling and MATLAB for analysis.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to integrate DSP solutions, optimize implementations, and mentor junior engineers while staying current with FPGA technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
• Minimum 3 years in signal processing, FPGA/ASIC development, or related areas.
• Proficiency in Simulink and/or MATLAB for modeling DSP systems.
• Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA/ASIC design and implementation.
• Familiarity with FPGA platforms and toolchains (Vivado, Quartus).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for FPGA/ASIC and DSP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement signal processing algorithms for FPGA/ASIC systems.
• Use Simulink for modeling and simulation of DSP workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and validate DSP algorithms.
• Optimize FPGA implementations for performance, power, and size.
• Conduct system-level analysis to meet project requirements.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead or participate in project design planning and status reporting.
• Coordinate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to integrate DSP solutions.
