Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal DSP FPGA/ASIC Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA to design and implement advanced signal processing on FPGA/ASIC platforms. You will leverage Simulink modeling, algorithm development, and collaboration with hardware, software, and systems teams to deliver robust aerospace solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree with 8+ years experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• STEM degree required; 8+ years experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Strong modeling with Simulink and MATLAB.
• Proficient in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA/ASIC design.
• Experience with DSP algorithms: filtering, modulation, spectral analysis.
• Familiarity with FPGA platforms (Xilinx/Intel) and toolchains like Vivado/Quartus.
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills in FPGA/ASIC and DSP systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement signal processing algorithms for FPGA/ASIC systems.
• Use Simulink for modeling and simulation of DSP workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate DSP algorithms.
• Optimize FPGA implementations to meet performance, power, and size constraints.
• Conduct system-level analysis to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the team roadmap.
• Integrate signal processing solutions with hardware and software teams.
