Job summary

CyberCoders seeks an experienced Superintendent - Dry Utilities to lead field operations for underground fiber optic and CATV networks. You will manage crews, coordinate permits, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Ideal candidates bring 7+ years in heavy civil construction, deep utility installation knowledge, and proven leadership to drive critical infrastructure projects in dynamic environments. This role is based on-site in Tempe, AZ.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of heavy civil or utility construction experience
• Minimum 3 years in a superintendent or lead field role
• Experience with dry utilities including fiber optic cables, underground broadband networks, conduit systems, and CATV networks
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with stakeholders, permitting agencies, and utility owners
• Familiarity with OSHA, NESC, NEC safety regulations; OSHA 10/30 preferred
• Proficiency with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise field crews and subcontractors on dry utilities projects
• Plan, sequence, and manage daily field activities to meet schedules
• Coordinate permits, utility locates, and access with project managers and authorities
• Inspect trenching, conduit placement, and terminations to ensure design compliance
• Oversee OTDR and power testing for fiber installations
• Enforce site safety programs and conduct toolbox talks
• Manage material deliveries, inventory, and quality control of components
• Prepare daily reports, field logs, and closeout documentation
• Provide on-the-job training and resolve field issues promptly
• Monitor budgets, labor productivity, and equipment utilization
