Job summary

Micron Technology's Facilities Design and Construction team is seeking a Dry System Mechanical Engineer to lead design and oversight of dry mechanical systems for semiconductor manufacturing at our Clay, New York site. You will coordinate external engineering partners and ensure safety, quality, and compliance.

You will review designs, optimize performance metrics, and help drive cross-functional alignment with engineering, construction, and operations, leveraging BIM tools and AI-enabled

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting mechanical systems for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, or other advanced technology facilities.
• Experience reviewing mechanical system designs and ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency using BIM tools for design coordination, clash detection, and system integration.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with facilities, manufacturing, engineering, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate third-party engineering firms in the design of process exhaust, HVAC, make-up air handling, and cleanroom systems
• Review and validate design deliverables, including P&IDs, equipment specifications, and system layouts
• Evaluate system performance metrics such as flow rates, pressure requirements, thermal efficiency, and reliability
• Develop and maintain design standards, construction specifications, and operational requirements
• Partner with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure system integration, quality, compliance, and project alignment
