Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc in Manassas, VA seeks a Sr Dry Etch Equipment Engineer to drive reliability and long-term improvements for Dry Etch toolsets in high-volume semiconductor manufacturing.

You will lead root-cause troubleshooting, analyze data trends, and coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, and suppliers to meet yield and uptime goals. Strong mentorship and cross-functional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues using structured methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead systematic, root-cause-driven troubleshooting to eliminate chronic failures and improve Dry Etch equipment reliability.
• Analyze tool data, identify trends, and implement long-term corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Manage tool recovery strategies, provide ETAs, and partner with Production to maintain long-term stability.
• Own spare parts strategy, BOM accuracy, consumable health, and cost-reduction efforts.
• Drive yield and scrap-reduction initiatives by addressing equipment-related alarms and defects.
• Lead CI projects to improve availability, throughput, and cycle-time reduction.
• Support new tool startups and process conversions for equipment readiness and performance.
• Provide mentorship to technicians and junior engineers on maintenance practices and reliability methods.
