Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL seeks a Senior Design Engineer to own and deliver complex driveline systems from concept through production.

You will lead mechanical design activities and coordinate with controls, software, manufacturing, and purchasing teams in a global environment. Required: a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering and 5+ years of mechanical design experience with CAD tools and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering from an accredited curriculum.
• 5+ years designing mechanical systems, including load-bearing or powertrain/driveline components.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and implement components and systems for transmissions, axles, and driveline systems.
• Own engineering decisions across the full product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with controls and software teams and with global manufacturing and supplier groups.
