Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join the Wind Global Machine Head Driveline team. You will drive design of main bearing covers, seals, and main shafts through full life cycle, from concept to installed fleet support, focusing on reliability, cost, and performance.

You will work with global teams across quality, manufacturing, sourcing, and field support to advance design practices, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives in utility-scale wind

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with hands-on design experience.
• Experience with drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in 3D-CAD tools such as NX/UG and robust communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects for new product introduction and technology integration with emphasis on quality and reliability.
• Design build-to-spec seals and covers along with main shafts for wind turbines.
• Own design documentation, drawings, and specifications, incorporating best practices.
• Develop testing/validation plans to prove component function and reliability.
• Provide innovative design solutions to meet cost and reliability targets.
• Support cross-functional teams to improve first-time yield and field issue resolution.
• Lead root-cause analysis of field failures and drive corrective actions.
• Identify cost-saving ideas and advance manufacturing/design tooling.
