Job Overview

Mechanical Engineer with experience in design, development, and testing of wheel motors used in off-highway vehicles such as construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and mining trucks.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
  • 8+ years’ experience designing drivetrains for off-highway vehicles.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed design specifications and drawings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Conduct simulations and physical tests to validate wheel motor and drivetrain performance.
  • Analyze test data and make necessary design adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to source components.
  • Oversee the production and assembly of prototypes.
  • Technical Support:
  • Strong background in gearing and bearing concepts.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and service teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wheel motor performance.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in motor design, preferably in the off-highway vehicle industry.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $115,000 - 140,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
