Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Drinking Water Project Engineer for our Sacramento, California office. You will work on all phases of drinking water and reuse projects as part of our design and process teams.

Role includes project engineering/management, design, planning, and operational support focused on drinking water/reuse projects such as surface water, groundwater, and recycled water treatment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering.
• PE license (California preferred).
• 5–12 years of experience in municipal water treatment, water quality, water treatment technology, or manufacturing.
• Experience delivering multi-year projects in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead project engineering/management of drinking water/reuse projects.
• Serve as task lead and deputy project manager under the project manager.
• Support proposal development.
• Mentor junior staff and review their work products.
• Coordinate with clients and internal technical specialists.
• Prepare construction documents and specifications for water treatment projects.
• Lead technical writing for memorandums, master plans, and design reports.
• Provide engineering services during construction, including RFIs and site visits.
