Job summary

EOG Resources is seeking an experienced drilling engineer to lead well planning and design, develop AFEs, and manage vendor services across multiple basins in the US. The role requires strong HPHT knowledge, offshore/onshore drilling experience, and the ability to collaborate with G&G, Reservoir, and regulatory teams.

Candidates should have 7–10+ years in oil and gas, with 7+ years focused on drilling, and be willing to travel and relocate as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering with preference for Petroleum or Mechanical.
  • 7-10+ years of related oil and gas industry experience, 7+ years in Drilling focused positions.
  • Onshore and offshore drilling experience required; shallow water jackup experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of well control practices and managed pressure drilling and HPHT experience is required.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
  • Proficient in casing design, drilling fluids, cement design, directional planning and downhole tools.
  • Willing to travel to field locations and relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design wells, write AFEs, bid and award vendor services.
  • Analyze drilling performance and costs; provide operational engineering support.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and apply new technologies to improve drilling performance and cost efficiencies.
  • Coordinate with G&G, Reservoir, Completion, Land, Construction and Regulatory groups.
  • Provide engineering support and possible guidance for multiple drilling engineers, rig operators and well site supervisors in the International Division.
