Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Drainage Engineer in Reno, NV, to lead drainage design and hydraulic analyses for transportation projects. The role involves coordinate with clients, agencies, and internal teams, delivering plans and reports on schedule.

The ideal candidate has a PE license and 8–15+ years of hydraulics experience, with strong communication and organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple projects locally or in workshare with other offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.
• 8–15+ years of professional hydraulics design experience including roadway drainage and flood control facilities.
• Experience with erosion control and water control facilities.
• Experience with DOT and local agency design procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of roadway and regional flood control facilities.
• Prepare clear and accurate studies, technical reports, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
• Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and sub-consultant coordination.
• Interface with clients including state and local agencies.
• Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with office management and project managers to share resources.
• Assist in proposal preparation including oral presentations.
• Coordinate and work within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to complete projects.
• Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
