Responsibilities include establishing hydrologic/hydraulic designs, ensuring compliance with VDOT, state and federal regulations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related field.
• 4+ years of drainage design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with intent to obtain PE within 1 year.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software (Ensoft, HY-8, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HEC-HMS).
• Experience with VDOT, State/Local design standards and environmental compliance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Hydrologic and Hydraulic design of stormwater systems for roads/bridges.
• Manage hydraulic design elements on transportation projects for VDOT and locality tasks.
• Assist with environmental compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Perform erosion and sediment control design and field inspection.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and VDOT personnel.
• Prepare drainage calculations and technical reports for project submissions.
