Job summary
Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is seeking a highly experienced Professional Engineer (P.E.) to lead H&H design and review for Virginia transportation projects. The role requires advanced drainage design, floodplain analysis, and coordination with state and local agencies.
A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Ideal candidate will oversee drainage packages, ensure compliance with VDOT Drainage Manual, VDOT Standards, FEMA NFIP, and related guidelines, and mentor junior engineers on complex
Qualifications
- Active Virginia P.E. license required.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive hydrology/hydraulics experience for transportation projects.
- Experience with VDOT roadway and bridge design and processes.
- Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MicroStation/OpenRoads, GIS.
- Strong communication and leadership of engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic design for transportation projects.
- Prepare, review, and seal drainage designs and plans.
- Ensure compliance with VDOT, DEQ, FEMA, and AASHTO standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and QA for junior engineers.
- Coordinate with VDOT district staff, local governments and agencies.
- Participate in public meetings and stakeholder sessions.
- Support proposal development for H&H tasks.
