Job summary

HNTB Corporation is seeking a Senior Drainage Design Manager in Kansas City, MO to lead a drainage team on fast-paced transportation projects. You will provide technical direction across hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will manage project scope, staffing, client communications, and deliverables, while coordinating with internal and external partners to address design challenges on mega and super-mega projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 4 years of successful management of engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead drainage design on transportation infrastructure projects.
• Develop project scope, fee quotations, and technical proposals.
• Oversee staff recruitment, development, and performance reviews.
• Coordinate with clients and partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Provide senior review of designs, calculations, and scopes of work.
