Job summary

Woodweb is seeking a Millwork Engineer to design, engineer, and support custom millwork projects from concept through production. You will create shop drawings, material specs, and CNC-ready files to ensure quality and efficiency on site.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years in millwork or cabinetry. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, with SolidWorks or Inventor as a plus. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are a must.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Wood Technology, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or custom woodworking engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD required; SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar preferred).
• Strong understanding of woodworking materials, joinery, hardware, and finishes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and CNC-ready files for custom millwork projects.
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design concepts.
• Engineer millwork components for manufacturability, structural integrity, and cost efficiency.
• Select materials, hardware, finishes, and construction methods.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, production teams, and installers.
• Resolve technical issues related to fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Review RFIs and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
• Support estimating by providing material takeoffs and technical input.
• Participate in quality control reviews throughout production.

Job Summary

This role bridges design intent and manufacturing execution by producing accurate shop drawings, material specifications, and technical solutions that ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and CNC-ready files for custom millwork projects
• Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design concepts
• Engineer millwork components for manufacturability, structural integrity, and cost efficiency
• Select appropriate materials, hardware, finishes, and construction methods
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, production teams, and installers
• Resolve technical issues related to fabrication, assembly, and installation
• Review and respond to RFIs and design changes
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications
• Support estimating by providing material takeoffs and technical input
• Participate in quality control reviews throughout production
