Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect at Ft. Belvoir, VA to shape the technical direction of a DoD modernization program.

You will connect mission requirements with practical architecture across commercial software, cloud, data, cybersecurity, and user-facing applications. The role requires collaboration with customer leaders and engineering teams, owning technical decisions from strategy through implementation, and leading architecture reviews to drive scalable, secure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years in solutions architecture, software architecture, systems engineering, or modernization.
• Broad SaaS, cloud, data, and cybersecurity experience.
• Ownership of architecture for complex production systems or platforms.
• Experience with DoD customers and senior stakeholders.
• Strong technical writing, briefing, and decision-making skills.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture and technical roadmap for an integrated mission platform.
• Translate mission and business requirements into executable technical approaches.
• Evaluate commercial platforms and determine integration with government systems.
• Lead architecture reviews and resolve cross-cutting technical decisions.
• Guide engineering teams on scalability, security, interoperability, and sustainment.
• Develop prototypes or technical validation to reduce delivery risk.
• Explain complex technical decisions and tradeoffs to senior technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
