Job summary

LMI Government Consulting seeks a Principal Solutions Architect to shape the technical direction for a U.S. Army modernization program in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Ten+ years of experience in solutions/ software architecture or technology modernization.
• Broad technical experience across SaaS, cloud, data, software delivery, and cybersecurity.
• Ownership of architecture for a complex production system or platform.
• Experience working with engineering teams and senior customer stakeholders.
• Experience supporting a DoD customer.
• Strong technical writing, briefing, and decision-making skills.
• Active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own the target architecture and technical roadmap for an integrated mission platform.
• Translate mission and business requirements into executable technical approaches.
• Evaluate commercial platforms and determine integration with Army systems.
• Lead architecture reviews and resolve cross-cutting technical decisions.
• Guide engineering teams on scalability, security, interoperability, and sustainment.
• Develop prototypes or technical validation to reduce delivery risk.
• Explain complex technical decisions and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.
