Job summary

IPT Associates (IPTA) is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join the Wright-Patterson AFB program. You will assess systems for vulnerabilities, apply RMF and DoD standards, and develop authorization artifacts to support ATO.

Collaboration with stakeholders and ongoing risk management are core to the role. The candidate should have five+ years in information security engineering, with expertise in RMF, NIST 800-53/160, and experience with eMASS or Xacta.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, or engineering.
• Minimum five years in information security engineering, RMF, or assessment/authorization.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-160/800-53; CNSSI 1253; DoDI 8510.01 and AF policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess systems for vulnerabilities, control deficiencies, and risk, advising the AO on improvements.
• Apply DoD/AF/NIST standards across the system lifecycle and RMF phases.
• Develop and maintain authorization artifacts and system diagrams.
• Conduct security control assessments via scans, reviews, and testing.
• Support eMASS/Xacta workflows and continuous monitoring efforts.
• Collaborate with owners, cybersecurity staff, and engineers to embed security by design.
• Support incident response and risk reporting through government channels.
