Job summary

Leidos is seeking a highly experienced Network Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise network infrastructure across DoD environments. You will be the senior technical authority translating mission requirements into secure, scalable designs that span WAN, campus, data center, and tactical edge, with Zero Trust alignment and hardening for RMF and DISA requirements.

You will guide engineering teams through implementation, mentor engineers, and ensure designs meet ATO readiness

Qualifications

• Clearance: US Citizen with at least an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a SCI prior to start date.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience or Master’s with 10+ years of experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III (e.g., CISSP) and a professional networking cert (e.g., CCNP Enterprise, JNCIP).
• Experience: 12-15 years in progressive network engineering; 5+ years in architecture/senior design for DoD environments.
• Technical Expertise: Routing/switching, data center fabrics, WAN, campus, and secure remote access architectures.
• Compliance Knowledge: RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs; DoD Zero Trust Reference Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop target-state network architectures and multi-year modernization roadmaps.
• Produce high-level and low-level designs for WAN, campus, data center, and cloud-connected environments.
• Architect Zero Trust capabilities and policy enforcement aligned with DoD pillars.
• Design secure interconnections with classification levels and encryption requirements.
• Lead architecture reviews and brief government leadership on recommendations.
• Mentor engineers and oversee implementation and cutover activities.
• Drive lifecycle planning, capacity planning, and performance baselining.
