Job summary

RTX on-site in Huntsville, AL seeks an Engineering Support Solder Technician to repair and assemble micro-sized components on CCAs and prototype sub-assemblies. You will perform fine-pitch SMT soldering, wire harness repair, and documentation to engineering drawings and test instructions.

You’ll verify quality under a microscope, replace components, and support the Engineering team with troubleshooting and setup. A strong detail orientation and IPC practices are valued.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 4 years of micro-soldering fine pitch SMT components.
• Verification/Inspection experience with standards, processes and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Micro-soldering under a microscope.
• Quality verification/inspection under a microscope.
• Building, repairing, and replacing wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
• Replacing mechanical and electrical components.
• Recognizing failures and isolating problems with corrective action.
• Work from verbal instructions to achieve outputs.
• Keep management informed of unresolved or potential problems.
