Job summary

SimTech, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is hiring an Electronics Engineering Technician (Mid-Level) to join a dynamic team. The role focuses on high‑precision soldering, cable assembly fabrication, and prototype development in a defense‑oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–10 years in electronics, experience with fine pitch SMD soldering and wiring, and must hold or be eligible for an Active Secret clearance. Travel and occasional OT may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with fine pitch surface mount soldering and cable assemblies is required.
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-A-620 certifications are preferred.
• 3-10 years of experience in an electronics-related field is preferred.
• Experience with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and soldering is required.
• Must be a self-starter capable of working independently or as part of a team; strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled surface-mount and through-hole soldering and rework.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and instructions to build and test assemblies.
• Fabricate cables and breakout boxes per technical drawings.
• Use hand and power tools for building breakout boxes and assemblies.
• Produce high-quality prototypes from engineering drawings in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide electronic testing and debugging with multimeters, X-ray, and other equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Develop procedures for operational tasks.
