Job summary

Nou Systems seeks a Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert to support the MDA NGE program in Colorado Springs. You will serve as a trusted SETA advisor, delivering secure, resilient hybrid multi-cloud networking aligned with DoD Zero Trust requirements.

You will lead architectural reviews, guide transitions across AWS, Azure, and on-prem VMware NSX, and steer implementation of DDI, micro-segmentation, and SASE technologies. A TS/SCI clearance and CISSP are required.

Qualifications

Master's degree in a STEM discipline with at least 12 years of engineering or IT architectural experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 20 years of relevant experience.
Experience architecting enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM solutions using Infoblox as ASOT in hybrid cloud environments.
Experience designing, deploying, and securing enterprise networks across AWS, Azure, and on-premises VMware VCF/NSX environments.
Experience designing, integrating and accrediting network transport and boundary security within classified DoD environments.
Active TS/SCI clearance and current SCI eligibility.
DoD 8140/8570 IAT III or IASAE II requirements.
Active CISSP certification.
U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior technical authority in architectural review boards, evaluating vendor-proposed network, boundary, and DDI designs against NGE architecture and DoD Zero Trust requirements.
Provide technical oversight and architectural direction for hybrid enterprise networking solutions across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments.
Design and document end-to-end network transport solutions, including routing topologies, traffic engineering, multi-cloud transit networks, and resilient connectivity.
Architect and govern Infoblox DDI infrastructure as the ASOT, including DNSSEC, split-horizon DNS, Anycast routing, and automated IP provisioning.
Oversee integration of NGE enclaves with DODNET boundaries, ensuring CAP compliance and Versa-based SD-WAN gateways.
Guide implementation of network micro-segmentation, SDP, distributed firewalling, and SASE aligned with DISA Thunderdome standards.
Provide technical direction for F5 BIG-IP and Palo Alto Networks firewalls to support Layer 7 inspection, threat prevention, and Zero Trust enforcement.
Support VMware NSX networking concepts like logical routing, distributed firewalling, and automated IP provisioning.
Evaluate cloud networking architectures (AWS Transit Gateway, Azure) and automated routing between cloud and on-prem environments.
Lead technical exchange meetings with integration contractors and vendors (Cisco, Versa, VMware, Infoblox, F5, Palo Alto).
Escalation authority for complex network integration, routing, DNS, and cross-domain connectivity issues.
Translate Government leadership requirements into actionable technical solutions while ensuring DoD cybersecurity and architecture standards.
