Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a backend/platform engineering team.
• Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the Documents Platform.
• Build scalable APIs and backend services for document-based experiences.
• Evolve document infrastructure into a generalized platform across Rippling.
• Own complex technical decisions across distributed systems, data models, storage, APIs, reliability, and scalability.
• Remain engaged in technical design while enabling engineers to execute independently.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into durable platform capabilities.
• Establish abstractions and interfaces to accelerate team velocity without rebuilding internals.
• Build for long-term scale, extensibility, reliability, and developer experience.
• Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team.
