Job summary

Confidential in the Jacksonville, FL area seeks an experienced Dockmaster to lead complex waterfront and operational activities, including docking evolutions, maintenance programs, vessel displacement analysis, and planning. Direct supervising of waterfront staff ensures safe vessel movements and compliance with standards.

Candidate must have NAVSEA Dockmaster certification, 5+ years in shipbuilding/docking, and strong math, records management, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with time and attendance tracking software.
  • Strong mathematical skills applicable to operations.
  • Working knowledge of maritime standards: ABS, USCG, NEC, IEEE 45 requirements.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and written/verbal communication; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage dry dock and marine travel lift ops, coordinating crews and waterfront services for safe vessel movement.
  • Oversee inspection, maintenance, and certification of floating dry docks and related assets; document maintenance program.
  • Develop and execute docking plans: displacement calculations, prints/line plans review, block layouts; coordinate with Engineering.
  • Maintain accurate operational records and logs; communicate technical information clearly with crews, customers, and towing operators.
  • Other duties as assigned.
