Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Waterfront Technician on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM). The role supports docking, mooring, and heavy equipment handling to prepare vessels for land bays and dry docking, with emphasis on safety and hands-on mechanical work.

The ideal candidate will have formal technical training or a journeyman/associate's degree, 2 years waterfront experience, and certifications for forklift, manlift, or travel lift.

Qualifications

• Formal technical training or journeyman/associate degree.
• At least 2 years waterfront experience preferred.
• Certifications for forklift, manlift, and travel lift operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare docking sites in land bays or dry dock, including vessel positioning and blocking operations.
• Assist with vessel mooring, line handling and waterfront support operations.
• Measure and mark vessel blocking locations for drydock alignment.
• Operate power tools and perform maintenance, repair, and assembly around heavy equipment and vessels.
• Support small boat operations and high-risk evolutions with proper guidance and supervision.
• Work non-standard hours and perform other duties as assigned (occasional overtime).
