Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a docking engineer to join a small team of engineers, docking supervisors, and hourly technicians in New London, CT. You will coordinate material readiness for docking assets and work with Navy standards.

The role requires 15+ years of experience in material readiness for facilities or maritime vessels, plus a BS degree or higher, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills to drive safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher.
• 15+ years of experience managing material readiness of facilities or maritime barges and ships.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material readiness for Graving Docks and floating assets.
• Schedule, fund and oversee all aspects of material management of the docking assets.
• Collaborate with engineering to adjudicate material deficiencies and remediation.
• Update maintenance manuals and drawings with the Docking Engineer.
• Draft and manage correspondence with external government stakeholders.
• Publish preventative maintenance cards as advised by Docking Engineer and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-1625D and NSTM Chapter 997.
• Demonstrate a track record in safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
