Job summary

OracleCloud Infrastructure is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and implement control-plane services for DNS zones, records and routing. You will build reliable distributed systems in Java with Python automation, emphasizing API correctness and security.

You will drive observability, performance tuning, and secure rollout practices while mentoring peers and collaborating with SRE and security teams. This is a high-impact, IC3-level role in the US.

Qualifications

• 8 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production services.
• 4 years building distributed systems or cloud control-plane platforms.
• Strong Java production service development and concurrency troubleshooting.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows.
• Strong REST/OpenAPI API design skills and contractual interfaces.
• Experience with Linux networking and highly available distributed systems.
• Container experience with Docker/Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Solid testing discipline across unit/integration/e2e tests.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement DNS control-plane services and APIs.
• Build workflows for validation, change orchestration, propagation and lifecycle management.
• Develop production services and libraries in Java; automate with Python where needed.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to accelerate design, testing, and automation with safeguards.
• Improve safety and resilience with idempotent workflows, audits, and canary releases.
• Own observability: metrics, logs, tracing, SLOs, runbooks, and on-call readiness.
• Collaborate with DNS data plane, security, networking, and SRE teams.
• Contribute through design/code reviews and mentoring.
