Alliant Insurance Services is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to independently design, build, and operate complex data software and pipelines. You will translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, drive important data product components, and raise engineering quality through solid architecture, testing, observability, and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or related work.
• 1+ year of Insurance industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Leads technical discovery translating divisional requirements into data architecture and delivery plans.
• Designs, builds, and operates scalable data ingestion and integration services.
• Develops reusable frameworks to improve engineering speed and consistency.
• Designs data models optimizing storage, query performance, and compute.
• Establishes automated testing, data quality controls, monitoring, and recovery practices.
• Leads investigation of data defects and production incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Ensures privacy, security, governance, lineage, and retention requirements are met.
• Mentors engineers and coordinates with product, analytics, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Communicates delivery status and data limitations to stakeholders.
