Job summary

Core Specialty Insurance Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Engineer to own and optimize a large-scale data platform.

This hands-on role combines engineering leadership with practical implementation, mentoring peers and guiding architecture. You design data pipelines, improve data models, and support analytics and AI/ML initiatives while ensuring reliability, governance, and security across cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering on large-scale data platforms.
• Proven ability to own complex projects from design to delivery.
• Experience with data platforms for downstream AI/ML use cases (feature stores, curated datasets).
• Experience with IAC and CI/CD practices for data systems (Terraform, GitHub Actions).
• Strong coding practices with modular notebook-based development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and platform components.
• Own high-complexity engineering initiatives from design to rollout.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability bottlenecks.
• Contribute to AI/ML readiness through data models, governance, and access patterns.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues; provide on-call support for critical pipelines.
• Mentor data engineers and enforce architectural standards across the team.
