Job summary

J MAR & Associates is seeking a Senior Division Order Analyst to join a well‑regarded oil and gas operator with an active drilling program. The role focuses on accurate ownership setup and maintenance while collaborating with land and accounting to support expanding operations.

Responsibilities include analyzing title opinions, leases, units, and surveys; creating DOI decks; and maintaining ownership in accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Strong oil and gas division order experience including deck creation, title and lease analysis, and DOI calculation.

• Monitor drilling schedules to ensure timely ownership setup ahead of monthly accounting deadlines.
• Analyze title opinions, leases, elections, as‑drilled plats, and unit surveys.
• Calculate and establish divisions of interest for cross‑unit and horizontal wells.
• Create and maintain revenue, JIB, insurance, and payout decks in Enertia with detailed booking instructions for accounting.
• Set up and update ownership in the accounting system for new wells and existing decks.
• Respond to owner inquiries via phone and email in a timely, professional manner.
• Collaborate with land, brokers, and owners to obtain documentation and resolve title suspense issues.
• Research probate, conveyance, and other legal documents to resolve ownership discrepancies and complete transfers.
• Maintain and update suspense codes and ownership records across all decks.
• Generate reports and perform data queries to support accounting and land functions.

This role offers the opportunity to support a high-quality asset base and expanding operations, ensuring accurate and timely ownership setup and maintenance while working closely with both land and accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor drilling schedules for assigned assets to ensure timely ownership setup ahead of monthly accounting deadlines.
• Analyze title opinions, leases, elections, as-drilled plats, and unit surveys.
• Calculate and establish divisions of interest for cross-unit and horizontal wells.
• Create and maintain accurate revenue, JIB, insurance, and payout decks in Enertia, including detailed booking instructions for accounting.
• Set up and update ownership in the accounting system for new wells and existing decks.
• Respond to and resolve owner inquiries (phone and email) in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with land, brokers, and interest owners to obtain documentation and resolve title suspense issues.
• Research and interpret probate, conveyance, and other legal documents to resolve ownership discrepancies and complete transfers.
• Maintain and update suspense codes and ownership records across all assigned decks.
• Generate reports and perform data queries to support accounting and land functions.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong oil and gas division order experience, including deck creation, title and lease analysis, and calculation of divisions of interest.
• Background in major U.S. onshore basins. Texas and Louisiana preferred.
• Familiarity with land or accounting systems. Enertia experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Highly collaborative, team-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
