Job summary

Providence Health & Services is seeking a Division Senior Corporate Counsel to provide strategic and practical legal services across the Division. You will serve as the single contact for the Division, guide governance matters, and coordinate with DLA leadership to align legal strategy with healthcare operations.

The role requires a JD, active CA or OR license, and 10+ years in healthcare law, preferably with in-house experience. Strong leadership and risk-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Active admission and license to practice law in either California or Oregon.
• Minimum 10 years of healthcare law experience; in-house healthcare system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as single point of contact for a Division and provide strategic legal counsel.
• Attend relevant governance meetings and advise the Division Administration and executives.
• Supervise outside counsel and coordinate with DLA specialists.
• Develop processes to track external legal costs and optimize legal service delivery.
• Provide analysis and counsel on regulatory and legal changes affecting operations.
• Lead in defense strategies for non-malpractice litigation where appropriate.
• Collaborate with Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel for guidance.
