Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command seeks a RIGGER SUPERVISOR for the RIGGING BRANCH (Code 741) in the Lifting and Handling Department at PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD in Kittery, ME.

You will lead dive teams performing underwater ship husbandry, crane and rigging operations, and related work. You will direct diving activities, inspect equipment, and ensure safety and compliance with DoD requirements, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires proven leadership and ability to supervise diving teams.
• Experience directing both surface and underwater dive operations.
• Must be able to assess and respond to diving injuries with minimal oversight.
• Competence in interpreting diver-related blueprints and plans.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dive teams performing underwater ship husbandry, chamber operations, crane and rigging tasks.
• Direct all facets of the dive, both above and below the surface.
• Conduct high risk diver training and determine resource needs.
• Oversee dive inspections and develop dive communication plans.
• Manage underwater search, recovery, and ship/ submarine repairs.
