Job summary

Everforth Apex is seeking a Senior Distribution Systems Travel Engineer to modernize network design and implementation for Air Force and Space Force bases. This onsite role at Eielson Air Force Base requires residence in the Fairbanks area and eligibility for a Secret clearance.

You will lead surveys and implementation efforts, guide installation of new technologies, test fiber networks with OTDR and power meters, coordinate with Government POCs, and develop technical plans and reports.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 5+ years in Distribution Systems Engineering.
• Experience in IT upgrade project environments.
• Familiarity with ISP/OSP design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide solutions and guidance to field engineers.
• Guide installation of advanced or new technologies per customer needs.
• Test fiber optic systems with OTDR and power meters.
• Coordinate with Government POCs for design, installation, and base access.
• Provide input into ISP/OSP design and technical recommendations.
• Lead small implementation teams or manage specific work scopes.
• Develop technical project plans, proposals, and reports.
• Update network as-built documentation based on testing results.
• Attend customer meetings and serve as a network liaison.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology.
