Job summary

Entergy is seeking an Engineer I-Sr (Utility) to perform protective coordination analyses for distribution systems, develop settings for protective devices, and support self-healing networks.

The role involves working onsite in Texas with collaboration across IT, project management, and field teams to ensure reliability and safe operation of the distribution grid. Eligible candidates should have a Bachelor's in engineering and progressive experience from entry to senior levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from a four-year accredited institution.
• Engineer I: 0-2 years of experience in an engineering discipline
• Engineer II: 2-4 years of experience in an engineering discipline
• Engineer III: 4-6 years of experience in an engineering discipline
• Engineer Sr.: 6+ years of experience in an engineering discipline

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and coordination studies for distribution devices.
• Develop settings for distribution protective devices and other equipment.
• Support self-healing networks and review proposed self-healing networks.
• Work with IT to get SCADA host edit sheets developed for Distribution devices and self-healing networks.
• Work with project managers to commission Distribution devices and self-healing networks to SCADA.
• Provide protection guidance to engineering design and operations teams.
• Assist with storm restoration efforts and outages coordination.
• Participate in cross-functional optimization with grid/system design, planning, asset management and root-cause analysis.
